Featured Puck – Toledo Goaldiggers

The Toledo Goaldiggers were a minor professional hockey club based in Toledo, Ohio. Founded in 1974, they played as a part of the International Hockey League (IHL) until 1986. The “diggers” were very successful in their 12 years, reaching the post season 10 times, the finals 6 times and winning 4 Championships. The team was forced to shut down in 1986 due to financial troubles and lack of fan attendance. Eventually the franchise was sold and moved to Kansas City, becoming the Kansas City Blades in 1990.
